The New Code of Private Maritime LawEfstathia (Fay) Kapeta Kalliani was born in Athens, Greece. She holds an LL.B. degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and an LL.M. degree in Maritime Law, from the same institution. Her postgraduate dissertation examined the legal framework and liability for wrongful arrest of ships.
Fay is primarily involved in maritime, corporate and commercial advisory work within the Firm, supporting the day-to-day legal needs of shipping companies. Her work includes company formation, drafting shareholders’ agreements and ensuring compliance with know-your-customer (KYC) requirements.
Her practice focuses on maritime and corporate law, advising Greek and international clients—including shipowners, charterers and shipping agents—on a wide range of legal and commercial matters. She has experience in vessel registration, corporate structuring both in Greece and in offshore jurisdictions, and in providing strategic legal support for shipping operations.
In addition, she contributes to litigation matters through in-depth legal research, particularly in disputes relating to marine casualties and ship arrests.
She is fluent in Greek and English and has a working knowledge of French.
